A custom built home is a process full of different phases requiring your attention. It is an exciting process but a little understanding of each phase can help you in planning the next 9 – 12 months (approximately). Here is what you can expect as you begin to build your custom home.
BRING YOUR DREAMS
As you begin to meet with our designers and possibly our architects, you have the opportunity to provide all of your dreams for your custom home. You can bring your collection of photos, ideas from home tours, and discuss any inspiration you have gathered. You can also discuss your design style, the functionality of your home, and any other elements that you’d like incorporated into your new custom home.
FIND A LOCATION/BUY YOUR LAND
If you don’t already have a lot to build on, Shrock Premier Custom Construction can offer suggestions, like our Urban Meadows private community of custom built homes in Bellville, Ohio. We can also provide site evaluations of any potential lots. We will look for available utilities, the suitability of the ground for construction, and offer suggestions for your potential view.
DESIGN AND BUILD
During this stage, possibly the longest phase, you will frequently engage in conversations with your designer/architect. You’ll discuss features and options, colors, and budget issues. As the floor plans are applied, you’ll discuss any changes and styles you want to incorporate. Keep in mind that we are building your vision. You’ll be heavily involved throughout this phase.
COMPLETION
As your home is being finished, you’ll do a final walk through, discuss warranty issues, and assure all operations are functioning properly.
