  • This was first experience Shrock and M. Baker had to work with MWCD.  There were some growing pains but none that weren’t overcome with conversation and consideration from all parties.  The working relationship for future projects will only become more positive for all involved.

Of all the positive experiences we had in this construction, nothing could top the opportunity we had working with Braden Adkinson on a daily basis. Not only was Braden totally professional in everything he did, but also his positive attitude on the work site working with other sub-contractors and with us was very much appreciated. There was virtually nothing Braden wouldn’t do in order to find a solution to a problem, even when it seemed that there was no solution in sight. As a homeowner and first time builder, it was very comforting to know that someone like Braden with his “take charge and can do” attitude was on the job and leading the team.

Joseph, I also want to thank you for your personal involvement in this project. I very much appreciated and admired your attention to the details and the quality that went into completing this structure. I know that you had many other projects going on this summer, yet you made time to stop by the site on numerous occasions to check on the progress, to talk to Braden, and to ask if we were satisfied as to the progression of the work. This shows your commitment to deliver a quality service and product.

Finally, Brenda and I would be very pleased if you would kindly extend our sincere gratitude to all of your excellent subcontractors and office staff. Joni and Joe poured a cement floor in the basement family room that is so smooth and nice that we just threw some rugs on it and left it as is. And Buck is an excellent trim carpenter who was able to take my rough ideas and turn them into a beautiful finished product. I have received numerous compliments on the exterior finish of the addition and I give you credit for helping me realize my vision.

But perhaps your greatest virtue as a contractor is your flexibility and attention to detail. I cared a lot about this project and really wanted it to come out just right. Rather than being daunted by my passion for the project, you were willing to work with me all the way from the drawing phase to the finish carpentry phase in order to make sure that we met our goals.

There are many slogans in advertising, but I must say that you fully live up to your company’s claim to being a “Custom Home Builder”.

But most of all, I want to thank you, and all the men, for building me such a GOOD house. You were right – it’s tight and well insulated. I kept it closed as much as possible. I made it through almost 48 hours with no heat and the pipes and everything held. HOORAY!

Both nights – Thursday and Friday – it was below zero, Friday morning they said it was minus 23 degrees. I ran a fire only on Thursday and part of Friday afternoon. Friday I went to stay with the Hildreths. When we came back to check Saturday, December 25th about noon, the power was on. The heat was on. Everything was fine. I’m glad I didn’t have to go any longer without power. I think that might have been pushing it. I am going to look into some source of backup system or alternative heat.
